Dean’s speech

Having a history of more than 100 years, the Beijing Normal University was one of the first few institutes to initiate research in the area of nuclear science and technology in China. The College of Nuclear Science and Technology at the Beijing University adhere to the excellent tradition of “be patriotic and adopt progressivism, be honest and modest, seek truth and be innovative, excel to be a role model” and the “learn, so as to instruct other; act, to serve as example to all” school motto, and developed the “be innovative, seek truth, be rigorous, be open-minded” college motto and education philosophy.

 

The College of Nuclear Science and Technology at the Beijing Normal University has strong teams for research and teaching, embraces harmonic, unifying, and positive working environment, and is equipped with leading teaching and research instrument. The college has become one of the important bases that cultivate the innovative the high-level talents specializing in the nuclear science and technology in China.

 

Relying on the “Key Laboratory of Beam Technology of Ministry of Education” and “Key Laboratory of Applied Optics of Beijing Municipality”, the college has developed disciplines with own characteristics in the areas of dark matter physics and detection, cosmic radiation physics and detection, heavy ion physics, beam science and technology (MEEVA intensive ion source, PIXE, linear electron accelerator, ion beam technology and application), high intensity X-ray science and technology (capillary x-ray lens technology), microarc, radiation physics, radiation-induced materials defects, nuclear analysis and application, nuclear electronic, radiation breeding, and etc. The college also achieved important accomplishment in many areas of discipline development, such as talent cultivation, scientific research, social research, culture inheritance, innovation, and international collaboration.  

 

The college emphasizes on innovation of the original theory and efficient transformation of technology, cultivation of the outstanding young scholars, construction of the infrastructure for teaching and research, internationalization of the teaching and research team, particularly the rejuvenation of the teaching and research team. We cordially welcome the talents abroad and in China joining the college, to carry forward the tradition, to forge ahead, to striving to making contributions for Beijing Normal University’s development on “double first-class initiative”, to buttress the national new green development by delivering strong theoretical, technological, and talents support.
